iPhone 5 Screen is a free application that transforms the look of your Android device to mimic an iPhone 5 design.
Design and Interface
iPhone 5 Screen is not merely a skin mod for your device; it's a standalone application that authentically recreates the design aesthetic of an Apple iPhone 5. It showcases the official icons characteristic of the iPhone 5, which are neatly organized into five rows against the backdrop of the original iPhone 5 wallpaper. Moreover, there's a dock with four recognizably Apple icons, very similar to what you would find on an iPhone 5.
The interface design of the iPhone 5 Screen is quite authentic, albeit some of the icons are not perfect replicas. For instance, the calendar icon could do with some polishing.
Functionality and Performance
On the functionality front, the icons on the iPhone 5 Screen map to their corresponding applications or functions in Android. For example, tapping on the Messages icon will take you to the Android messaging app, selecting Maps will lead to Google Maps, and touching Photos will open up your device's Gallery.
However, iPhone 5 Screen could use some improvements. Many of the icons are unassigned to applications and consequently divert you to an advertisement banner. Some even direct you to promoted apps on the Google Play store. Moreover, certain icons, such as the Mail icon, are non-functional, which may hamper the user experience. This pitfall could have been mitigated if the application allowed you to manually map applications to the icons, but such functionality is not presently available.
Despite these limitations, iPhone 5 Screen offers a novel way to prank your friends that you have uccessfully installed iOS 6 on your Android. However, its actual utility remains relatively limited.
